Director's Message

2026

It's difficult to believe that it's 2026. This year marks my sixth year as Public Health Director of the Grayson County Health Department. I am excited to serve this community for another year. However, this year will be challenging given budget cuts and all of the uncertainty at the federal level. Despite these challenges, I have faith in my team as we work to achieve a healthier tomorrow in Grayson County.

This year we will continue to focus on collaboration with our community partners. We will also work to implement new services such as a Community Health Worker and KPAP (Kentucky Prescription Assistance Program) representative. We will also work to advance all our programs while focusing on the core foundation of public health transformation.

Additionally, we will continue to make strives to become an accredited health department through the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). We believe that accreditation will make us a better organization thereby improving all public health services that our agency offers in our community. When we improve our community benefits!

In closing, if we can ever be of assistance please do not hesitate to reach out. We want to be your connection to local public health because at Grayson County Health Department, we work for a healthier tomorrow.

With Gratitude,

Joshua Horton, BS, MS, MBA
